What we collect
- Your mobile number, because it is how you sign in. We text you a six-digit code and keep the number so the next sign-in works. There is no password.
- Your name, as the dock entered it, so the other side knows who acted.
- What you enter about a trip — species, estimated pounds, the arrival window, and any note you add — and what the dock enters back, including the receiving lane and the reason for a decline.
- Photographs of the catch, when you take them, and the caption you write with one. A photograph taken on a phone may carry where it was taken — but only when your phone is already recording the boat’s track, which means outside a dock’s area and only if you turned that on. Photographs taken at the dock, and any taken from a computer, carry no location at all.
- A device token, if you enable notifications, so a phone can be told an advisory was answered.
- A record of changes. Every action that changes an advisory is logged with who did it and when. This is deliberate: two businesses are coordinating a landing, and each needs to be able to show what was said.
Who can see it
A captain's advisory is visible to that captain and to the dock it was sent to. Nobody else — not other boats, not other docks. A dock sees the boats it has enrolled and the captains it has authorized on them.
Improving Loli·GO, and model training
We may use what you enter — including photographs of the catch and the species, weights and notes recorded beside them — to develop and improve Loli·GO, including by training machine-learning models: recognising a species, reading a ticket, telling the condition of a catch from a picture of it. A model trained this way may be used to run Loli·GO for every customer.
If you would rather we did not, email loli@loligo.app and we will leave your organization out of it. Everything in Loli·GO works the same either way. Removing a photograph deletes the image and stops it being used from then on — though a model already trained cannot be made to forget what it learned, and we will not pretend otherwise. The full terms are in section 8.
What we don't do
We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not share catch information with other docks or with anyone else's fleet. Loli·GO is not connected to any regulatory or enforcement system: an advisory is an operational estimate, not a filing.
We do not share your mobile number, your agreement to be texted, or any record of it with anyone for marketing or promotional purposes — not with third parties, and not with affiliates. Your number goes to the messaging carrier that delivers our texts, for the sole purpose of delivering them, and nowhere else. What we send and how to stop it is on the getting set up page.
Where it lives, and for how long
Data is stored in the United States, encrypted in transit and at rest, and backed up. Trip records are kept while the dock has a business reason to keep them. Sign-in codes are short-lived and sessions expire.
Asking about your data
Write to loli@loligo.app to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to close your account. Some records of a completed landing stay with the dock that received it even after your access ends.
